Interpretations

What is it?

Interpreters do the talking. They work with the spoken word, converting speech from a source language into a target language. This goes beyond speaking two languages fluently. Interpreters must also communicate the style and tone of the speaker, while considering differences of culture, dialect, and setting. Additionally, good note-taking techniques are vital for accurate renditions.

At Essential Language Services, Inc, we will ensure you have a well-qualified and experienced professional interpreter to serve you!

Translations

What is it?

Translators do the writing. They work with the written word, converting text from a source language into a target language. This is much more than replacing one word with another. The translator must also convey the style, tone, and intent of the text, while taking into account differences of culture and dialect. Additionally, writing extremely well in the target language is a must.

Essential Language Services, Inc has a network of highly-experienced translators available to take on any task!

About

Hello! My name is Licet Paulk. My family emigrated from Cuba in 1980 and my mother ensured we always spoke Spanish in the home. This allowed me to learn two languages simultaneously and acquire proficiency.

My early career path began, working as a Bilingual representative in Banking & Insurance companies. I also had a keen interest in the Health and Medical arena which greatly contributed to my understanding and comprehension in those fields. All of this gave me a broader knowledge base as I later ventured into interpreting over 17 years ago. Eagerly I studied and received training in varied topics to ensure a thorough understanding of subject matters while continuing to build my vocabulary.

I have previously held contracts requiring Federal background screening through the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), interpreting for multiple Government agencies including:

  • Department of Homeland Security (DHS) United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) - Credible Fear Interviews

  • Telephonic interpreter monitor for DHS USCIS Affirmative Asylum Interviews

  • USCIS Title 42 interviews

  • Department of Labor (DOL) administrative hearings

  • Social Security Administration (SSA) disability claims hearings

Currently, I maintain an active cleared background screening with OPM for the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) with an annual Privacy & Security Training requirement. So, you can be sure that your information is in trustworthy hands!

Additionally, almost 6 years ago, I trained for and successfully passed the necessary evaluations to interpret for the Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and currently interpret in Immigration Courts throughout the country, at a high level of performance, for Preliminary Hearings & contentious Final Hearings,

I find a great reward in being a voice for the community and look forward to serving your language needs!
